Beavers in Montana

Have you ever seen a wet rat 100 pounds? The first time I saw a big man in Beaver Cedar Creek (Mineral County, Montana) is exactly what I thought I was. I looked again, perhaps the gangly creature was teetering on the bank was a puppy. My second thought is, where is Mama Bear?

Meeting of the beaver was a unique experience and not worrying. The movies and cartoons often depicted as the industrious beaver, brash and hard. Beavers are all, however, in nature, they are simply ugly.

Beaver (Castor canadensis), semi-aquatic mammals are rodents of America North, north of Panama and who are the second largest rodent in the world (after the capybara). They are closely related to rats, squirrels and marmots. The Beavers have average longevity of 12-15 years, however, the beavers over 20 years are not uncommon.
